Book Review | 15/08/17

Time to admit to a certain guilty pleasure – Hi my name is Alice and I am addicted to Katie Price books.

There’s definitely worse problems that I could have and I don’t mind so much but being such a book worm people definitely give you a look when they find out that you have not only read every book Katie Price has ever published but also that you own all of them.

I don’t know what it is, maybe because her life is so interesting and her novels make for such an easy read. Ever since I picked up her first autobiography for 50p at a carboot sale I have been hooked. I have since purchased and read all of her autobiography’s – working at WHSmith helped with that one! I have also purchased and read all of her fiction books. I bought crystal, angel and angel uncovered during one of The Works 3 books for £5 deals and I have never looked back! They might not be the most intelectual of books but my god are they fun and easy to read. I’m not even ashamed to admit that those three books are the most read books on my entire bookshelf. One of them is even so misshapen because I dropped it in the bath – and I hate reading in the bath!

All of the above considered, was it really any surprise that I picked up Kate’s latest autobiography ‘Reborn,’ the minute that I saw it out on the shelves in Tesco. It has taken me a little while to get around to reading it, hopefully now the coursework is over, more reading can take place!

It’s hard to give a super in depth review but of course I loved the book, it was easy to read, honest and open as all of Katie’s books are. The book promised ‘Fierce honesty and humour’ and it 100% delivered! There were times where I wanted to cry with her and laugh with her.

The only thing that I didn’t really like in the book which is less a fault of the book itself and more so something I felt Katie didn’t really need to do was when she described her wedding vowel renewal to Kieran and she continued to repeat and explain their situation over the past couple of years. In my person opinion if she was willing to forgive him for what he had done and stick by him – and let me tell you she is a bigger person than me for doing that! – she should have left the past in the past and not continued to drag up what he had done!

It feels like it’s been a little while since I read one of Katie Price’s books and I have to say this one did not disappoint and I will definitely be straight to the front of the queue when the next one comes out, I might even try and get tickets for the next launch!

What’s your biggest guilty pleasure book?

Love, Alice x
