I had planned a pretty elaborate post for today however after finishing up the late shift at work, dragging myself through the tedious process of cooking dinner, washing my hair and doing the washing I started it and just couldn’t face the whole editing, photographing and fine tuning process. Instead here is a super raw, unedited and pretty basic ‘tag.’ I found this tag on the ‘root report’ website and thought I might as well give it a go!
Are you named after anyone?
To the best of my knowledge, no. When people ask I like to say that I’m named after Alice in Wonderland but I’m pretty sure that I’m not. When I have asked my mum about this in the past she always says that she didn’t want to name any of her children after anyone else however I’m not sure about this as a couple of my siblings have names the same as people we know..
When was the last time you cried?
Embarrassingly, I’m pretty sure it was yesterday. I’m one of those pathetic girlfriends that will cry over anything during an argument. Yesterday, an argument over washing up drove me to tears.
Do you have kids?
No, but I can’t wait to have kids. I don’t want any just yet though, I need a little bit more time to get my own life on track first. I mean, come on, I’ve just admitted to crying over the washing up!
If you were another person, would you be a friend of yourself?
This is such a tricky questions! I think I’d say no because if I was someone else then I feel like I’d be too similar to myself and then we would clash but equally I think I would obviously have a lot in common with myself. Pass.
Do you use sarcasm a lot?
Never! I am quite sarcastic but I do try to use it a bit less especially in day to day conversation because I know it can come across as a bit rude and it’s so annoying when you’re trying to have a serious conversation!
What’s the first thing that you notice about people?
Another difficult one, I think maybe tattoos. I’m not very good at making small talk but I do enjoy talking about tattoos so I usually try and suss out if they have any art on them as it gives me a basis to start a conversation! I also always notice whether someone is wearing a wedding ring or not, I feel like it helps you to know just a little bit more about them!
What is your eye colour?
Just like this isn’t something I notice in other people, I don’t really know myself. I think my eyes might be brown but I could be wrong. I just double checked this with my boyfriend and he tells me that they are in fact green.
Scary movies or happy endings?
Happy endings 100%! I am a disney girl, I love a good happy ending!
This is such a weird question! I love the smell of doughnuts at the seaside, that is probably right up there in my top three. I also love the smell of the holster aftershave that my boyfriend used to wear when we first started dating because it reminds me of those happy, care free, no washing up argument type memories!
Whats the furthest you’ve ever been from home?
I went on a two week trip to Africa with my dad a few years ago which was probably technically the furthest I’ve been but since my dad and my brother and some friends were with me it didn’t feel like I was really far from home.
Do you have any special talents?
I really wish the answer to this was yes and then I could blow your socks off by surprising you with my secret talent. Unfortunately the answer is no, I’m so boring.
Where were you born?
I was born in Cambridge, in the hospital. Despite being a home birth herself, my mum was so against having home births with her own children in case anything went wrong and she needed hospital treatment. Let’s be honest it was pretty lucky that she did take that stance as I think she had complications with the majority of us!
What are your hobbies?
I love to read, bullet journal/plan and blog of course!
Do you have any pets?
Technically, no I don’t have any pets. Through my life I have had a tonne of pets from fish to mice to ferrets to chickens and I live with my boyfriends family and their dog but I wouldn’t really class her as my own pet.
Do you have any siblings?
I do indeed. I am one of five children, I have three older brothers and a younger sister. Again if we would like to be technical about it I am one of eight as I also have two step sisters and a step brother.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I hate this question, will I ever be grown up? If you asked me this question any time before the last year I would have said a paediatric nurse, now I have no idea!
Who was your first best friend?
My first best friend is still my current best friend. Even though I don’t get to see her a tonne due to living in different counties and working different hours (I work days during the week and she works nights at the weekends) I still love her and she’s amazing!
How tall are you?
I don’t know, I get asked this a lot but I just don’t know. I think my mum is 5″3 and I’m a tiny bit taller than her but my sister is about 5″5 and I’m shorter than her so I must be about 5″4 but I’m not certain.
Funniest moment throughout School?
I don’t really remember or want to recall much of my school years. Maybe when I did a French oral test and I had a complete mind blank and the only word I could remember how to say was football, which was great until I remembered I didn’t know the first thing about football and I then had to speak for 20 minutes about the stupid game!
How many countries have you visited?
This is a good question, let’s see. I’ve been to France, Spain, Germany, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Tanzania, Ireland and I think that’s it. So seven countries?
What was your favorite/worst subject in High School?
The worst was probably drama, I’m such a shy person that I hated when they made us get up and perform! My favourite was probably English because I love to read and write.
What is your Favorite drink? Animal? Perfume?
Okay, I’m pretty sure this is three questions but lets do it. Drink: Malibu and coke unless we’re talking soft drinks and then a vanilla milkshake. Although milkshakes do nothing to quench your thirst so I don’t always choose them!
What would you (or have you) name your children?
I’m really not sure, I haven’t thought that much about names of my children, I’m a big believer of seeing children before you name them as well. By all means have a few ideas before hand because it’s a bit weird when the baby is born and it doesn’t get named for about a week but what if you’ve decided that you’re going to call your baby Alan and when it comes out it looks like less of an Alan and more of a Albert? You see the dilemma!
What Sports do you play/Have you played?
I’m not exaggerating when I say I don’t do sport. I only did about 10 PE lessons in my entire 5 years at secondary school.
Who are some of your favourite YouTubers?
I have a few that I really enjoy to watch, I love the Michalaks, In the Frow and Scribble Prints Co to name just a few. I’d definitely be interested in doing a top 10 you tubers that I watch if you’d like to know!
How many Girlfriends/Boyfriends have you had?
I had one proper boyfriend at school who I was on and off dating for about a year and a half and then I had two boyfriends after that (at separate times of course!) but neither of them really counted as proper boyfriends. After that I met my boyfriend who I am still with four years on!
Favourite memory from childhood?
As I mentioned, I come from quite a big family so I have so many childhood memories, some of which are quite embarrassing and my brothers cannot seem to let lie. Yes, I’m talking about that one time I sang that one song which had everybody laughing so hard that 13 years on everyone still brings it up! It’s hard to pick a favourite but I would have to say maybe one of the funniest was when my brother set up a ‘bank’ using an old laptop and rearranged his room to look like an office. He invited me to a meeting at the ‘bank’ and showed me a powerpoint that he had prepared detailing all of the benefits and terms of conditions of the different bank accounts. Of course the drawing factor was when he said that if I signed up and opened my account today, not only would I receive a snazzy paying in book but I would also receive a complimentary duck shaped money box. I was hooked however I found out the hard way that the terms and conditions stated that you had to make regular deposits otherwise the bailiffs would be round taking my belongings instead. Unfortunately, and he stands by this to this day, the bank made a risky investment and lost all of their money which forced them to close. I don’t recall the exact amount of money that I had invested into this bank, but I do know it was enough for me to be wary of all banks to this day!
How would you describe your fashion sense?
Polished hobo? Although is it really that polished! I’m a pretty casual dresser but I do like to get glammed up for any occasion, especially since moving to essex I have learnt that it’s not an occasion if you’re not wearing heels!
What phone do you have? (iOS v Android?)
I have an iPhone but I’m still considering taking the leap to android. It’s just so easy when your macbook, your phone and your TV all sync up..
Tell us one of your bad habits!
I don’t have any bad habits, what are you talking about? One of my worst habits (depending on how you look at it!) is probably going to bed without taking my make up off. I’m awful for taking my make up off and on the rare days I actually go to bed having taken my make up off you can guarantee that theres a pack of face wipes lurking!
I hope you’ve enjoyed getting to know a bit about me! I’d love it if you could pick a question and answer it for yourself in the comments!
Love, Alice x
