Inspired by my recent autumn bucket list, I woke up Saturday morning with no plans however the weather was decidedly autumnal and I thought that I might as well make the most of it.
After watching a few episodes of Gilmore girls to get me in the mood, my boyfriend, his mum and I got ourselves ready and off we went to the local pumpkin patch. I know that we are getting a little ahead of ourselves but I just thought why not? We had a great time looking at all of the different types of pumpkins and choosing our favourites. I managed to get a few different pumpkins, some to decorate our room, one to make soup and a couple to decorate for an upcoming blog post.
I have to admit that I had no idea that there were so many different types of pumpkins in the world, although I am now the proud owner of about 8 different types of pumpkins. Don’t ask me to identify them though, I have no idea!
Once we had chosen all of our different pumpkins and loaded them up into our wheelbarrow we took them to the gazebo to price them up and pay for what we had chosen before loading them up into the car. We didn’t feel quite ready to head home so we decided to visit a couple of garden centres and somehow managed to stumble into the best Christmas displays I’ve ever seen. I’m ashamed (only a little bit) to say that I picked up a few Christmas decorations but I could not be more excited, I already have incredible visions of the winter wonderland that I plan to transform our home into! I cannot wait to get my own house for the seasonal decorations, that and the parties for any occasion.
It turned out to be a lovely day and we had so much fun, if there’s a pumpkin patch near you I would definitely recommend it, even if you don’t have children – we had a blast!
What’s your favourite way to decorate your house for autumn?
