Last year my boyfriend surprised me with a day in London to visit the one Aldwych hotel and munch on Charlie and the Chocolate factory themed afternoon tea. It was a lovely part of my Christmas present that meant we got to spend some much needed time together so I was so excited when he admitted that we had another surprise date lined up.
I woke up with no idea what was going on so I let Tom pick my outfit whilst I jumped in the shower and washed my hair. He chose the check flannel shirt dress which he bought me for Christmas last year which I paired with some cable knit tights, my ankle boots, and a big fluffy scarf.
We headed to London and got off the train in South Kensington for brunch, we had the yummiest cinnamon hot chocolates and crepes to fill us up. I had an apple and cinnamon crepe whilst my boyfriend tried out the peanut butter and chocolate one.
Once we had finished eating we headed to the V&A museum to have a walk around and look in the gift shop before we walked over the Royal Albert Hall. He had booked me tickets the beauty and the beast screening with a live orchestra playing throughout. It was incredible and the building itself was just insane in the first place!
When we got home we had some homemade veggie sausage rolls and put on some Christmas music to get us ready to decorate the tree. It was incredibly festive and now as I sit typing this and looking across at the Christmas tree, I’m feeling so ready for Christmas and extremely grateful for my life.
Today I am grateful for my boyfriend who always goes out of his way to surprise me and treat me like a princess and also for his mum for welcoming me into her family and her home.
What are you most grateful for today?
Love, Alice x
