What I got for my 20th birthday | Gift haul

I know that these sorts of posts can cause some controversy within the blogging community, however, I still want to write this. I want to write it for a few reasons, one being that I love reading these posts and another being that I want to be able to look back on this and remember what gifts I got for my birthday. Of course, I am not trying to brag whatsoever and I really appreciate all of the gifts that I got.

The first gift I got was a creative writing book from my boyfriend. I have been thinking a lot about doing a creative writing degree and my boyfriend thought this would be a great idea to prepare me and get my back into writing. I can’t wait to start using this and maybe I’ll share some of the things I write.

Next up, my boyfriend and his mum got me a few toiletries. I got the soap and glory hand food which I love and go through gallons of. I also got the sugar crush body wash which smells so good because I’ve had the soap and glory shower gel minis in the past and I wanted a big one. I also got a mini micellar cleansing water because I usually use the big bottle of this and my boyfriend thought that it might be handy to have a mini one for when we go on holidays.

I got two Ru Paul books, one from my boyfriend and one from his mum. I am so obsessed with Ru Paul and drag race right now so these books were the perfect gift! I am halfway through Workin’ It and it’s so funny, yet so on point with the advice. I love it! If you are also into Ru Paul, check out his podcast with Michelle Visage which is so funny!

I really want to get into calligraphy but since I’m useless and I do not have the time to learn calligraphy, my boyfriend gave me this super cute feather pen instead.

I’m pretty sure this is meant to be some sort of hint from my boyfriend. I am very interested in living a tidy life and I wish I could be one of those people who are super tidy and organised but since I’m not one of those people, I’ll read this book and get back to you.

My boyfriends mum gave me these brass page markers. I have already used one in my book but they’re quite thin so I’m worried they might bend in my bag. I think these would be really handy for marking things in my planner and making it look pretty!

I got these gorgeous makeup brushes from my grandad and I think they’re so pretty! I haven’t actually used them yet so I can’t speak for their quality but they look lovely sitting in my little pink glass with the rest of my brushes.

Some of the girls I work with got me this cute Mickey top and Disney socks which was cute. Unfortunately, because they gave it to me at work it meant I had to endure another awkward happy birthday run through. Someone, please tell me what I am meant to do during those long 30 seconds!

One of my good friends bought me these goodies, I love the Disney socks and Mickey top because Disney gifts are always a win! I also loved that she got me candy sticks because I haven’t had them in so long and I used to love them when I was a kid! I really love jewelry (especially necklaces) but I’m a bit useless at picking it so I love it when people buy me jewelry and this necklace is so cute! She also bought me a feather clutch bag because she actually ruined my old bag like this on a night out!

Another friend got me this cute Minnie notebook and some Disney socks, these gifts pretty much sum me up!

My Goddaughter gave me this sweet little basket with a wine glass, mini bottle of wine, bath bomb and some chocolates. It’s a really lovely way to give a gift and I can’t wait for a little pamper night in with this gift!

My mum bought me a game of scrabble which I had asked for because I wanted to introudce more games nights into my life and I didn’t have many board games! I can’t wait until I have my own house and I can organise some legitimate games nights with wine and snacks!

My brother and his wife bought me this long light up message board which is really cool and I can’t wait to use it in some of my photos! They also bought me a little mini keyring one too! Alongside the message board they bought me this little chambord gift set which I’m excited to drink!

I had added a few of the real techniques bold metals brushes to my amazon wishlist and my mum got me this eyeshadow one which I’m looking forward to using. One of my goals is to get a bit more into my make up and explore a bit more so it will be handy to have plenty of brushes to use.

My boyfriend gave me this heart ring from Pandora which I had mentioned to him when we were shopping. It was sweet that he had remembered it and I love it. I have another Pandora ring which he bought me for my 18th birthday and they look great stacked together.

My mum gave me this lovely quote frame which I love, I think the style of this is something that would really fit in with my aesthetic when I get a house. I also really like this quote so it was a lovely gift.

Finally my sister bought me this book which I have been wanting to read for a while. I can’t wait to get started on this, I’ve heard such great things about it.

What was your favourite thing that I got?

Love always,

Alice x
