Monthly Favourites | March 2018

Since it’s the start of a new month, I have spotted the world and it’s wife upload their monthly favourites. I figured, who am I to break tradition? So I too wanted to share my favourite things. I have decided to share my top 10 things from the month from beauty to books. If you enjoy this style of favourites posts, let me know and I’ll make them a regular thing!

Film: Blockers

The film that I have been loving this month is Blockers. It’s just come out in the cinema and I went to see it with my friend the other day. It’s one of those movies that is just ridiculous, it was so stupid but I was in stitches throughout the entire movie. I can’t wait until it comes out on DVD so that I can force all my friends to watch it with me! Please tell me I’m not the only one who does that?

Book: Workin’ it – Ru Paul

I’m not even going to lie, it’s been a busy month and this is actually the only book I’ve read! I got Ru Paul: Workin’ it for my birthday and since I’ve been obsessed with all things Ru Paul recently I had to read it straight away. It was a great book and it was so interesting to see things from a perspective of a drag queen. Let’s not lie, we could all learn a thing or two from a drag queen! I would definitely recommend picking this book up and seeing what you can get out of it.

Make up: Real Techniques bold metals 201 crease brush

This isn’t technically a make up product but you use it to apply your make up so I figured it counts. This was another birthday present and I have loved using it. I’m trying to experiment with make up a little bit more and stray further than my standard daily routine. This is such a nice brush, it looks beautiful and it also works really nicely.

Beauty: Solait tinted bronzing lotion

I’ve just gone to find a link to this and noticed that they have changed their packaging to pink and I love it! I think everything looks better with a tan and since I am about as pale as they come, I’ve decided to start getting into fake tanning a bit more. I really like this one because, providing you apply it right, it’s not streaky or orange. It gives a really nice tan and the longer you leave it on the darker it goes, I like to leave it on overnight to give a good tan. Of course, the best part of this is that it’s super cheap compared to some of the other tanning products out there.

TV Show: Queer Eye

I cannot get enough of reality TV and the show I have been really into this month is Queer eye. It’s a really funny show about a group of five gay men who go around the country and make over straight guys. They have the best personalities and are so funny but also do so much for the guys they meet. I have been known to get a little emotional after the transformations.

Food: Mini eggs

Since it’s Easter, there was really no other option for a favourite food than mini eggs. I love mini eggs and when it’s near Easter I literally eat my body weight in these things. I cannot get enough! I made some Rocky Road with mini eggs which you can check out here.

Photo:

My favourite photo that I took this month was a photo of some Polaroids that I took at my little sisters birthday party. I wrote a post all about the surprise party that I organised for my sister here and this photo is by far my favourite of them all.

Song: Rewrite the stars

I’m still on the greatest showman hype and I love this song more than any of the rest. I don’t know what it is, whether it’s just Zac Efron or it’s the actual song but I cannot get enough of this.

Event: My 20th Birthday

The event that I loved the most this month was, of course, my birthday. I don’t think there is any way to beat a birthday. Even if I do nothing, I love my birthday and I love the opportunity to celebrate and get a little spoilt!

Wild Card: Crafting

I have loved getting back into crafting this month. I am a massive fan of a good DIY but it’s been a while since I decided to sit down and make something. Since it was Easter this month, I decided it was time to get out my hot glue gun and get making. I decided to make some Easter bunting which I posted on my blog here. I can’t wait to get crafty again next month and share what I have made.

What is your favourite thing from March?

Love always,

Alice x
